Conclusive Foreign Affairs Committee vote on Romania

Commenting on the result of today’s European Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee vote on its final Romania report before EU accession, Baroness Nicholson commented:

“I am absolutely delighted that today the work of the Foreign Affairs Committee Romania came to such a triumphant conclusion. Fifty one MEPs voted for a very positive assessment on Romania with no votes against. This exceptional result is testament to all the hard work that Romania and her successive governments have invested in becoming an EU Member”.

“I also very warmly welcome the final unanimous conclusion by the Committee on children’s issues.

She added: “My parliamentary colleagues and I all very much look forward to welcoming our Romanian colleagues to the Foreign Affairs Committee as full Members in a few short months.”
